Which Bocconi Test for Which Program? Every Degree, Intake and Test Route (2027-28)

Bocconi's own website spreads this across half a dozen pages, so here it is in one place: every bachelor program, how many places it has, what language it's taught in, and which selection test gets you in — all per the official 2027-28 admissions pages.^[1]

The one rule that decides everything

There are two Bocconi tests, and they are not interchangeable:

• The Bocconi Online Test (standard) — accepted for every program, including the Law School. The SAT and ACT are equivalent alternatives.
• The Bocconi Online Test – Law — accepted only for Law School programs (Law and Global Law). The L-SAT has the same restriction.

So: if there's any chance you'll apply outside law, the standard test keeps every door open. The law test is the specialised route for committed law applicants — its content (18 logic questions, humanistic reading, a much narrower maths syllabus) is built for that profile.

If you have more than one score — say, a Bocconi test and an SAT — you can upload both and the application portal automatically uses your highest for the ranking.

Every program and its intake (2027-28)

Roughly 3,000 first-year places exist in total. The Undergraduate School:^[2]

Two details hiding in that table matter enormously. First, the five-year Law degree is taught in Italian — Global Law is the English-taught law route, and at 80 places it's one of Bocconi's most selective programs. Second, the Bachelor in Mathematical and Computing Sciences for Artificial Intelligence (BAI) is the only program with a subject minimum: at least 11 out of 24 in the Mathematics area of the standard test.

For programs taught in English, up to 50–55% of places may be reserved for international applicants — Bocconi actively protects its international mix.

* Bocconi publishes no cutoff or "competitive score" for any of these routes, in any session or year — the only official number is the 17-point floor below which you aren't considered. The figures above are what admitted applicants commonly report on forums such as r/bocconi. Treat them as a rough sense of the neighbourhood, not a target set by Bocconi.

The practical read: if you're already deep in SAT prep on an American curriculum, use the SAT. Everyone else is usually better served by the Bocconi test — faster results, home delivery, four attempts, and content built for exactly this admission. And remember: with multiple scores uploaded, the portal automatically uses your best.

What it costs to apply

• Test attempt: €60 each, up to four attempts per test type per year (standard and law count separately). Bookings open 13 July 2026.^[3]
• Application: €100 per application, non-refundable. Law School and Undergraduate School require separate applications — you can rank up to 4 Undergraduate School programs and up to 2 Law School programs.

How you're judged

The formula is public and exact: 55% selection-test score, 45% GPA from your third-last and second-last school years. Nothing else counts, and Bocconi says so outright: "The evaluation of applicants is based solely on these two elements. Additional documents, such as recommendation letters, motivational letters, CVs, or résumés, will not be considered in the assessment process."^[4] And a test score below 17 (after negative marking) removes you from selection entirely.

That's the whole picture: pick the test that matches your program ambitions, book early (the last dates before each deadline sell out), and remember the test is the only part of the 55/45 formula you can still change.
